Matterport’s next-generation immersive media solution for construction and facility management documentation is eye catching.
Matterport helps contractors, engineering firms, and architects document construction with a $3,600 camera to give you a 3D virtual tour. Matterport’s Pro Camera captures 2D photography and 3D data from job sites, and automatically stitches them into a complete, immersive 3D model.
“You basically walk it around the job site. It spins for 45 seconds,” said Tomer Poran, business development manager at Matterport. “And uses infrared to map out 3D and take 3D images from its camera.”

And it’s relatively fast.
“Because this 3D data can be exported at relatively high accuracy we’re at about 99 percent accurate and mostly above that so you can build a pretty good as-built,” Poran said. “We’re talking about five hours after you are finished you have a fully stitched point cloud.”
Matterport, which was one of several sponsors at Procore’s annual conference, is able to integrate with Procore.
With Matterport and the Procore integration, users can look at the most updated documents or submittals, and anyone on the project team can now virtually step into the jobsite and walk around freely.
